U suitable for all ages - has to be suitable for children aged four years and above

PG Parental Guidance - general viewing, however some scenes are not suitable for younger children

12a/12 - The ‘12A’ category exists only for cinema films. No one younger than 12 may see a ‘12A’ film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult, and films classified ‘12A’ are not recommended for a child below 12.
The ‘12’ category exists only for video works. No one younger than 12 may rent or buy a ‘12’ rated video work.

15 - No-one younger then a 15 year old may see a 15 rated film, rent or buy

18 - No-one can view, buy or rent a film that is 18 if they are younger then 18 years of age

R18 - To be shown only in specially licensed cinemas or supplied only in licended sex shops and to adults no younger then 18 years of age.
